It is now known that the main underlying causes of prostate enlargement are two hormones in excess: the female hormone estrogen (and its metabolites 16 hydroxy estrogens) and the male androgen dihydrotestosterone DHT (a potent testosterone metabolite). When in excess inside the prostate, these hormones cause cell growth, enlargement of the gland and related side effects.
EXCESS ESTROGEN
Normally men produce both testosterone and estrogen in a healthy ratio that favors testosterone. As men age, their testosterone levels decline, leaving a higher proportional level of estrogen in an excess. There is a growing evidence that excess of estrogen in a male body is what links aging with prostate enlargement. It has been found that estrogen can bind to androgen (male steroid hormone) receptors in the prostate and cause hypertrophy and disorders.
Xenoestrogens and prostate enlargement
Most notable contributors to excess estrogen and prostate disorders are xenoestrogens – i.e. industrial chemicals structured similar to estrogen, capable of binding to cellular receptors and induce estrogenic activity. These include petroleum based pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, plastic residues, parabens, solvents, adhesives, industrial waste and estrogen drugs as found in conventional meat and dairy
As my training was progressing I realized I needed to do more to reach the weight I wanted to be. As I trained with Coach Jim Massaro, I had watched him loose over forty pounds and heard him speak about the Warrior Diet and Ori Hofmekler I decided to learn more about it , I went out and bought the book, it was a easy read full of incredible information on how I can reach my goals and change my life. I taught the timing was wrong because I was going to start during the holiday season, but after finishing the three week weight loss program I was down 11 lbs. and my energy was through the roof. Now I was right in the middle of the holiday season with all the parties and events planned I was a little nervous but I had realize that I had learned that with the right combination of foods and with the addition of the Controlled Fatigue Training (CFT) this would not be an issue. I was able to knock off another 4 lbs. I enjoy the holiday season like never before.

About 6 months ago I switched my protein to Warrior Whey™, having it in the morning and after workouts and it has had amazing effects on me. I am down to about 6% body fat again, weigh 208 lbs., and am stronger than I have ever been in my life. My hemoglobin A1C is around 7 and I am taking less insulin than I was before using Warrior Whey™ and am still able to maintain my blood sugar.
