Is it alright to eat dried apricots, prunes, dates or figs during the undereating stage of the Warrior Diet?

Dried fruit is good but it is a concentrated source of sugar so be careful with it. Try some and see how you react to it and go from there. Apricots, dates, and figs are favorites of mine. Never cared much for prunes, though.

Thanks for your reply Charles.

The reason I was concerned is that I thought all the 'good stuff' would have long been lost when fruit was dried...

Apricots, dates, and figs are favorites of mine. Never cared much for prunes, though.

Prunes are actually my favourite!  Grin

Not necessarly so. In the WD book Ori talks about dried fruits a bit in a section on live food, and says something like you will have your own sense of how much goodness is left from the live fruit.

I would look out for the preservatives that many are coated in, though.

I am a big fan of the organic dried figs from Turkey we can now get in several of our local grocery stores.  I need something along the lines of a Warrior Bar in terms of calories and carbs for my refueling during the day, and I find that dried figs plus dry-roasted almonds, usually with a homemade ice-coffee with half-and-half, makes a great snack for me.  In terms of my own subjective reaction to it, it feels _more_ like live food than any protein bar does, even Ori's, which are the only ones I now use.

The snack for me is a handful or three of almonds plus one or two dried figs - that's about the right size for me.

Dates and figs are also high in iron.
