hey!

i'm a huge dark chocolate fan (don't eat milk chocolate), "problem" is, whenever i eat it, after about half an hour i have to go to the toilet, it happens every single time, no matter which brand, organic or not.
i thought common wisdom is that chocolate constipates?
do you think my body can't handle chocolate? should i be concerned about it? i don't get any cramps or bloating, just get the feeling of going to the bathroom.  Huh

best wishes

Are you sure it's not dark chocolate laxatives you've been taking?  Cheesy

I would just plan accordingly if you know what's going to happen. Have it after your main meal when you know you'll be home.

could it be that the dark chocolate is acting as a laxative because of its high concentration of magnesium? if i remember correctly milk chocolate is about 30-40% while dark is around 70-85% cacao so they are very different in composition and it could be the milk etc that is causing the constipation in other cases i'm guessing Tongue

i don't care so much about going to the bathroom, i'm just thinking that it could be a defense reaction from my body to tell me i shouldn't eat it. don't know...

"Chen" - I certainly wouldn't lose any sleep over it.  It may be something as simple as switching the brand of dark chocolate that you're eating.  The other thing is that you've found a surefire way of keeping yourself regular, which is soooooooo important.  And, what Nate said may be playing a very important part in what's going with your body.  If your diet is really clean and detoxed on a regular basis (and I'd say that it probably is given your leanness that I see in your posted photos), it could be that the magnesium in the Chocolate is sliding things through.

thanks rick, i'm glad that i don't have to give up dark chocolate  Grin

the brand really doesn't matter (tried quite a few) it's always the same, when i eat milk chocolate i don't get this "problem" but if it's not detrimental to my body i'm glad i have it, makes the overeating phase even more satisfying ;-)

in terms of regularity, since being on the WD i never had the slightest problem with that, i really couldn't imagine a better way than the WD/AED to deal with problems like this.

sorry, it seems i can't tell enough how excited i am about the WD, haha  Grin
