sleepiness in the evening
«
on:

I have been doing the Warrior Diet for a little over a week now. I love the flexibility and the indulgence of the evening "feast". I have noticed, however, that I am extremely tired in the evening after my big meal. I usually eat around 5-6pm and by 7pm or so I am falling asleep! Has anyone else encountered this? Could I combine foods in the evening differently to promote more alertness?
Thanks.

I don't know about the combining but I get up at 4:30 for work. If I get tired at 7, I just go to bed.

What time to you get up in the morning? Could your body just be tired? Has the tiredness come on since you started the diet?

I do have to get up early - 4 am - for work, so I was always getting a little sleepy at that time, but since starting the diet I have been literally falling asleep at 7am. It's not a big problem for me, but I would like to stay up at least as long as my kids do!

Ryan, you're just experiencing the natural cycle of what happens to your body after eating a large meal - you get sleepy. I wouldn't sweat it. I think it probably happens to all of us and really makes for a great night's sleep. I personally fight it when it comes on or nap for an hour or so and then wake up and I'm good to go for another couple of hours. It's a bit difficult to adjust to if you're used to being a night owl.
