I don't think there's anything to it, however there are people who swear by it. If it works for you go for it. If it doesn't, don't. It doesn't sound as though it's working for you.

I think everyone needs carbs.  I always feel sick when I don't get enough as well.

DN Moderator,

Just curious, have you ever become fat adapted, that is, eating a high-fat, moderate protein, low-carb diet for a month or so until your main energy source is fat, rather than glucose? I've done it, and i can honestly sat, once you get over the first few weeks where the enzymes for burning fat for fuel become prevalent, it is plain sailing, as long as you enjoy eating low carb foods.

I haven't become as "fat adapted" as you state, but I suppose I could give it a whirl.  What we've found is that some people do very well eating the way that you suggest, while others do not.  Again, it's really a matter of how your body is suited for it.  It's a good idea to experiment with it to see though.

DN Moderator,

As they say, different strokes for different folks. With that said, it seems aas though many people can live without carbs for a perios of time and thrive, but eventually they hunger for carbs. Thus, in my opinion, i think phase 2 of the AED would be a happy medium for these types of people.

Yes or actually Phase III might be better as you are switching up High Fat and High Carb fuel days throughout the week.
