I've read the information about plastics ... but what does one do about taking water on the go?

Are there any safe or safer re-fillable platic bottles one can purchase to fill filtered water in everyday for the on-the-go-out-in-the-world schedule?

If not, what are the alternatives, and where can I buy them?

Just to clarify: Instead of buying Poland Spring or Smart Water and taking it to work so I won't drink the tap water there (I work at a restaurant), what type of bottles can I get and where do I get them?

I have a water distiller from www.waterwise.com. They also sell polycarbonate water bottles which are supposed to be non-leaching. You could check out their website and see what you think. I use the gallon bottles they sell to haul my water in and a glass bottle that commercial iced tea comes in to pour into for my drinking.

I always use glass containers for my water.  I also often refill my coffee cup with water after I've had my morning coffee.  I have read that plastic water bottles are especially dangerous in the summer as more of the chemicals from the plastics in the bottle are released when the bottle gets hot.

I will appreciate recommendations for reusable water bottles.  We currently use your basic bicycle water bottle a lot around here but they're plastic and we've read and heard that we might be better with some glass or otherwise less porous.

SIGG is a brand I've heard mentioned, and I see they sell them at Campmor, a large mail-order camping store that happens to have a retail outlet near us.

SIGG?  If so, which one?  The ones I found mention that they're aluminum with some sort of "epoxy resin" lining - is epoxy resin any better than plastic?

There was another similar thread here and someone found a stainless steel water bottle and posted a link but I don't remember who sold the bottle. I reuse glass bottles that tea comes in.
