Can beans be eaten during undereating part of the day?

Can anyone tell me if we are allowed pinto beans during the undereating part of the day. I wanted to make a vegetable soup and put some beans in it if it was allowed. I thought it would help to have some protein in my soup from the beans. I appreciate any help. Thanks Zelma

You best success will come from eating uncooked veggies during the day. Also, you can have lower glycemic fruits (preferable) as well as some light protein such as organic yogurt, fertile eggs or dairy. Save the cooked beans for night time as they are best consumed then.

following on from the first question, what about sprouted beans? I've been sprouting some adzuki beans and i find they are great to crunch on during the day

Thanks for the reply. I will not eat beans during the day. I am having a problem getting protein during the day as I have an allergy to dairy products and that only leave eggs for protein during the day. I also have to cook some of the vegetables that are not good for hypothyroidism.

Zelma, that's fine, but you needn't eat crucifers during the day, unless you really want them. There are many other fresh veggies that you can eat that won't affect your thyroid.

About the beans. I have been eating hummus in the afternoon every other day with my veggies and a salad with balsamic vinager and oil on the other days. I need variety. If that is not a good option then what kind of dressing is ok and what else can anyone suggest. I have one hard boiled egg with them. I just need something on the veggies.

You know, I do that from time to time as well, so don't worry about it. However, I would say that if you find that you're not having success doing that, then cut it out and see how that affects you. Obviously hummus is a great food - low on the food chain. If you want to eat it in the afternoon, then fine, just keep an eye on your progress.
