Metabolic Typing

I don't know anything about metabolic typing really, but I have read that Dr. Mercola advocates that there are nutritional-types: some people do better with a high protein, high fat, lower carb diet; some better low protein, fat and higher carb; some in between. I have no idea if this is true or not, but I know that right now I need higher fats in my diet. The safest bet for you Rockhead - since you said you have been getting enough adequate good fats and eating lower carb - is to try out the Anti-Estrogenic Diet's detox phase (which emphazises carbs as main fuel, but also emphasizes good fat from avocado and olive oils) you might try this eating style for a couple weeks, then go back to fat fuel AND see what happens then.

DN,
Yes, it's on solid ground. We're both tired at night, you know, the usual; work, kids, soccer, et al...Not enough sleep (6-6.5 hrs per night) That may be a great part of it...
I was thinking that perhaps there was something nutritional interfereing..not enough carbs (thanks Hunter)?
Therein lies the quandry, I feel great most of the day, better than ever before, more energy, no mid-day lag, plenty of energy for the 05.15 kettlebell workout, but just not that much interest in "playing"....
Kinda weird isn't it? All this energy and I don't want to expend it....
Perhaps the Anti-Estrogenic Diet is worth a go...
In a nutshell, how does it differ from the WD?

Rock, go back and read through our past newsletters and download our Eating Plan Outline to find out more info about the AEDiet. Hunter may be right - it may be more of a detox issue. And yes, it seems to be absolutely true that some respond better to certain types of foods over others. You just have to find out which works best for you. The AEDiet helps faciliate this while detoxifying the body.

Hey, below is what Ori had to say about your earliest posts:
Your regime doesn't appear to be what the WD recommends for active individuals.
1) You're missing or miss incorporating post exercise recovery meals
2) Your evening meal should be planned as to increase virility - with raw nuts as a primary source of fuel.
3) As an active individual you may need small protein meals during the day - yogurt, Kefir or "Warrior Milk".
4) We do offer a program to address program prostate enlargement.
5) Get the now revised WD book - there is a lots of new information that will address your needs.
Regards,
Ori

Hi, it would be interesting to know if you guys solved the libido issue. Also, I think it might be normal to not crave sex in the undereating phase as you are in parasympathetic mode, maybe its time to get aroused after the feeding?

If you have libido problems, I suggest adding 1-3 tbsp almond butter (more potent than just plain almonds - 1 tbsp = 18 almonds ) to the end of your main meal. You'll feel the difference next day, I promise.

Low carbs, in my experience, are the first thing to kill my sex drive (And my sleep, actually.)
My solution?
**** low carbing. Being healthy involves being healthy, not being sick. You don't have to go low carb to get the body you want and you don't have to go low carb to follow the warrior diet.

I've never really had a libido..
Although I did have a phase awhile back where I was in a risky relationship (without explaining),
And that was the first time I ever felt a sex drive..
Coincidentally that was the first time I ever tried eliminating plastic from my diet.
But other than that, never had a drive.
Yet sometimes ill have dreams in a blue moon and my sex drive is crazy in them.
I personally think sex drive has a big, maybe even huge, social component..
The more friends, the bigger your tribe.. the more girls who want you...popularity...
And the more u use your sexuality, your drive can develop..
I really don't know. I have other mental issues that could have stopped my drive..
But I never really just get a boner, but I will if im about to be intimate...
I have been trying to greatly eliminate plastic the last few months.. but I don't seem to have much sex drive.
I was hoping eliminating plastic would really help me..
Because without estrogen promoters you can have more testosterone. Hoping it would give me more drive..
Idk, I can't seem to figure out why eliminating plastic the last few times is not "working" the same as when I tried it the first time..
Maybe its the social factor, as that has really changed...
Or maybe something else..
My life quite sucks right now

Don't know if this has been brought up before but I did not see it in the two pages of responses.
Have you gone to your Dr. and had a blood test done to see if your Test levels are low.

just to reply again to OP
I think sex drive would be there if you took a date had kids at grandmas, wined and dined.
no plans no guidelines
also in line, when do animals copulate. I think during spring when food/carbs become abundant. actually I think that's summer.
point being, read Lights Out, because it may not be normal to have sex drive constantly
as much as daily undereatimg is great, I would say the body might start thinking. SHIT. life is too hard
food isn't around and we are working all day for one meal at night.
maybe we shouldn't have children because there is not enough food to support population
I could extrapolate but.. evolut. factors!
u need to feel safe/secure/confident/ etc. your body is probably wondering why life sux. sleeping 6.5 / nite
u get it..
