Question for moderator/Aedieters

Our group has been enjoying the diet for 2 weeks now eating Detox phase. Most in our group are taking milk thistle and a multivitamin. (I will post our weight losses probably Wednesday). Some of the women wanted to me to ask what they could do to help with constipation they sometimes experience. They were very surprised that with all the fruits and vegetables, and occasional beans that they would have this problem. They are also drinking lots of water. I believe it could be because most previously were not taking multivitamins and they are still adjusting to the iron. They were wondering if the milk thistle has anything to do with it. So if you, Ori or anyone else has a good suggestion that may help please respond. I was also wanting any information from other AEdieters who may have experienced this problem. They want the most natural options if it occurs again so they do not have to rely on chemical laxatives.

If you're not already, you should be taking 300 mg of Magnesium, 1,000 mg vitamin C twice a day. It works so well for me I consider it more important than the multi. The diet actually improved this area of bodily function for me, with all the cabbage and beans I've been eating. Also, I don't take a multi with iron.

I wholeheartedly agree with Jerel. You really need the magnesium, in particular. It should make a difference for you. The vitamin C is also a great idea. Try that and let us know.

I also avoid multi vitamins with iron, for that exact reason. Also, I take children's multivitamins so that I have less of a chance of having too much of any of the vitamins. Plus they are easier to find without iron, and come in flavors!

i'm not 100% certain but it could be there's not as much waste to release your detoxing but you've also been eating food that does not have the nutritional value it once did, so the body is using everything. just a thought Dave
