I read about the diet in First Magazine and would like to start tomorrow. I ordered the book to be shipped overnight to arrive sometime tommorow. I would like to know what a sample menu for a day in phase one would be, since the book may not arrive until the afternoon.
Also, is wild caught shrimp acceptable? Thanks.

Wild catch shrimp is acceptable for Phase II.  As for the sample menu, check your email.  Please make sure that you sign up for our newsletters at the bottom of the forum.  Once you do that, make sure you click through the link in the opt-in email that you receive.  This way, you'll be sure to get all of our news and advice coming to you weekly.

Please clarify, shrimp is considered seafood and not shrimp? Phase 1 is only wild caught fish & Phase 2 would include seafood ie: shell fish. I have refrained from shrimp for that reason.

Also I have a 100lbs to lose and you suggested the most effective way is to alternate between 1 & 2. I am on the 7th today and phase 1 is good, I thought to accelerate loss I would do phase 1 for definately 2 hopefully 3. My only quibble is its' a bit limited, I guess I just need to be more creative. And if you alternate what is the formula, 1 week then switch or 2 weeks then switch.

I have not started exercising yet due to a hurt knee that happened a few days before I started this program. Once I've recovered I'll start something with no impact. I have a gazelle.

I could not find Organic Kefir without sugar also my organic lowfat yogurt does have natural sugar is that ok? I thought I could mix some organic milk with the yogurt to make my own. Is that sound right or I'll take any suggestions.

You're correct about the shrimp.  It is for Phase II.  As for staying on Phase I, feel free to continue it as long as you like.  You'll probably see your best benefits from that, but I would suggest alternating a day or two of Phase II throughout to give your body a break from Detox and also to allow you more variety.

As for the yogurt, you can use organic sugar, but realize that it may impede your results.  It's best to stick with plain.  You can certainly make your own with organic milk.

Hi Mary,

Welcome to the forum Smiley Alot of us are new and working through the diet as well. I just completed 3 weeks of Phase 1 then moved into Phase 2. I am not losing fast but I am losing which is remarkable for me.. (Seven  lbs in three weeks and a dress size)

Making homemade kefir is really easy, you do not even have to heat the milk, just use it straight from a fresh, just opened milk jug and clean mason jars. It takes a day to set up. Then you strain  it and add the kefir grains to another batch, and eat the yummy strained kefir. I flavor mine with vanilla, stevia and fruit.

I even buy the oldest milk on sale (tonight I got two gallons of organic milk for 2 bucks each!) because the culture helps to perserve it. It is great frozen too!

My favorite source for kefir is the yahoo discussion groups (many send you grains for free, you only pay shipping), but The  Happy Herbalist is a very reputable online source (just google it). You can get both kefir and kombucha from him.
