I use the Warrior Meal Replacement powder with non-hormone 2% milk as the basis for the recovery meal after exercise. To this, I've been adding a teaspoon of cinnamon, low glycemic frozen fruit, sometimes a banana if I'm really wanting a banana taste, and coconut creme concentrate - which is an organic product from Tropical Traditions - it's 70% organic coconut oil and the rest is coconut fiber. It's a solid at room temp. I put this in because of the great nutritional value of coconut oil, a medium chain fatty acid which isn't stored as fat but goes right to the liver to produce energy - this is how MCFA's are described in what I've read. My question is - is it ok to add the coconut concentrate to the shake? The complexity of our body chemistry is astounding - I have been reading Ori's Max. Muscle, Min. Fat book and it's amazing to read. BUT...also complex even though Ori has written it beautifully and the lay person CAN understand it. However, I'm not a trained chemist and didn't know if I was causing a problem with adding the coconut concentrate to the recovery meal. Thanks in advance for guidance from you wise ones who are more knowledgeable about this.
