Hello. Nice to meet some fellow warriors. I stumbled across this board a couple days ago, and finally got around to posting, BECAUSE I FINALLY STEPPED ON A SCALE in the first time in a few months. My whole life, I've been scared to step on the scale, because my weight would always stay the same or go up.

I'm 25, and was chubby since I was 5 years old. I have hovered at around 230-250 for most of my adult life, and I finally got to 275lbs about 6 months ago.  I was eating 4-5 meals a day, and drinking 3 or 4 tall glass rum 'n cokes every night.

Oddly enough, I never planned to start losing weight. I never even thought it was possible... I haven't done any workouts, or anything. The only thing I did at first, was simply quit drinking liquor, and eating lunch.  I felt myself losing weight for the first time in my life, and it felt good. So after about a month I stepped up my game to 1 meal a day, period.

At this point, I still hadn't ever heard of the Warrior diet, and although I could feel like I was losing lots of weight, I felt guilty, as if I was not being healthy, even though I felt better than ever.

I googled "one meal per day", and found out about the science behind iit. NOW I realize why I thought working out was so pointless while eating 3+ meals a day, because it was! I ALWAYS had food digesting in my system, so therefor any energy my body needed for the activity was taken from the food in intestines, not from my fat cells.

I really gotta say thanks to Ori, though. I mean, I'm sure I'm not the only one that 'discovered' this diet on their own (not like eating less to lose weight is a revolutionary idea), but Ori has researched the science to show us that is actually a HEALTHIER way to live, and we shouldn't feel wrong about it.

OK, I lied, I did try working out ONCE so far, today was the first day, and it felt GREAT. It's so much easier to move now, I walked 4 miles like nothing (I can't run cuz of a knee injury), and spent 30 min on a bowflex, did some pushups and situps. And it feels good to know that EVERY SINGLE CALORIE I BURN is coming from my fat cells, because my body purified itself from anything I ate yesterday already.

So anyway, I just wanted to share my story.. I couldn't believe the scale a few minutes ago when it said 208!!!! And now that I'm adding a workout, I'm positive I'm gonna hit <200 soon! I don't think I've been under 200 since I hit puberty.

For people who are just starting out on this diet, I would say to take it slow. I mean, if you aren't used to working out, don't start working out UNTIL your stomach and body is TRAINED to this new way of living.

Yes, your stomach needs to be trained, or else it will beg for food like a dog at the kitchen table. However, just like a dog, if you don't give into it's whining, your stomach will eventually know it's role and wait patiently for it's meal. This training can take some time, but once it is done, you will have MORE energy to work out, because you aren't wasting all your energy on digesting food all day.

Well, I'll be lurking around these forums for a while. The warrior way of eating is so natural and benneficial to me, I know I will never go back to 3 a day. Maybe it's my lack of will power when it comes to eating (once I start eatting, anyway), or maybe it's my body's genetics, but I KNOW that 3 meals a day does NOT work for me.

 That's really cool to hear.
It's always good to read "Hey, this works for me!" type of threads. Are you a fat fuel person or a carb person? Do you fast all day or undereat? What works best for you?
 Keep it goin!

I've been running fine off of full fast all day (til around 6pm). I think this is in a large part due to the fact that I still have such a large supply of fat in my body, and now my body has fully mastered the use of this fat fuel as energy. So I guess that makes me a fat fuel person now?

I don't count calories or anything and i'm 100% positive I am not meeting my daily maintanence caloric intake, but isn't that the point? I *AM* trying to lose weight... Wait, I'm not "trying", I am : P

However, I think if I ever get to the point where I don't have fat to burn, I'll start the undereating phase, instead of the fast. I'm sure my body will let me know if/when its time.

Just a little update. I had to leave town for a while and lapsed on my exercise... But I have had stuck pretty rigidly to the diet, but a few days I ate a peanut butter sandwich around 1-2pm, but if I did I also wasn't hungry for diinner, so I wouldnt eat as much my usual warrior dinner. However even my warrior meals would be considered average to a standard-dieted person.

Because of my lack of exercise the last week, I was thinking I would have gained weight... but the scale said 199!!!!!!! That is a total of 76 lbs. My goal is 165 or so, because I have a very wide frame body (genetically I was built and predisposed for weight... yes... "big bone-ded" haha).

And even while my daily caloric intake might only be around 1000+  calories, it FEELS as though my body is not running at a caloric deficit AT ALL..

That is because while my caloric intake from external sources my be in a deficit, my body has obviously become very good  at using my stored fat calories to make up for the difference... End result = weight loss but with normal or increased stamina and energy.
