Recently I was listening to some old segments from Ori's radio show and I stumbled across the one where he had guest Raymond Francis who wrote "Never Be Fat Again" and "Never Be Sick Again". The guy had some really good and interesting information that seemed right on the the same page as Ori and the WD. So I started reading a little bit about his philosophy and found his opinion and info on dairy products to be kind of scary considering I eat a lot of dairy. He states that dairy is not suitable for human consumption! I know Ori always says that its important to eat the highest quality dairy that you can, but he never puts dairy down like Francis does?

What are peoples overall thoughts on eating dairy with the WD? Could eating dairy be a mistake? Were humans not meant to consume cows milk like Francis claims? I switched to full-fat dairy and enjoy it. thought I was doing a good thing....now im a little confused. Thanks

The argument that only baby cows should drink cows milk and no other species other than humans consume the milk of another species, therefore we shouldn't either is not a very good argument. Only humans have the capability to procure milk from another species. If cats could could, there would be cat owned dairies all over.

Regarding the good or bad of dairy, it all depends. Pasteurized milk is horrible for you. Raw milk is incredibly healthy and good for you.

I can't give you any sort of definitive answer because there's so much conflicting stuff around (on the net). Charles is right, the argument about 'it's for baby cows' is totally specious, laughable in fact. Pasteurisation seems to be get rid of the bacteria that help digest the lactase. Some argue it destroys or makes less bio-available the plentiful vitamins and minerals, others argue it doesn't. What I have also gathered is that it's not just the pastuerisation that damages the natural product but homogenisation (to stop cream separating and rising), which changes the shape of the fat molecule and again makes it alien to the gut. Try finding non-homogenised milk in the supermarket. You won't. Except the full cream Jersey milk, which they have in Tesco and others. I also bought some unpasteurised French cheese, Comte, in Tesco the other day, which I was pretty pleased about.

I've posted stuff from Weston Price Foundation before, they are very pro-raw dairy. Follow up some of the previous links - I'm pretty sure you were in the thread. This will get you started: http://www.westonaprice.org/transition/dairy.html (http://www.westonaprice.org/transition/dairy.html)

Only if it's unpasteurised  Wink

That looks like the set of Neighbours (for our American viewers, an Australian soap still ludicrously popular in Britain).

And since when was it "toilette humour" - wouldn't that be jokes about perfumes and fragrances?

Raw milk is a live food, full of beneficial enzymes and bacteria. Many people who are supposedly lactose intolerant can consume raw milk. Pasteurized milk is a dead food. It spoils easily, doesn't taste very good, and the high heat renders the casein in milk indigestible. You get very little nutrition from pasteurized milk. If I can't get raw milk, I do without.
