Cheers folks, I hope you're all doing well  Smiley

In my constant quest of self-improvment, coupled with my fascination with warriors (historical and fictional), I've come up with a crazy notion of developing regiments or routines that will draw from, or be based on famous warriors. Obviously this is mostly a mental and motivational aspect I'm looking for, But also a physical one.

I've always dug the way Ori tried to mimick the way ancient warriors trained, And while I don't specifically train with CFT (I have the SE WD book, But I never used that CFT chapter more than once or twice), I do incorporate some of it's principals in my training.

What I'm wondering is, In my research for developing these routines, I'm looking for sources and inspiration. Besides recommendations from you, Which I would appreciate and love, I was wondering if it would be worthwhile on getting the new CFT book as a part of that.

Thanks in advance!

hi nobby, you've really made great progress!  i think knowledge is power. the more you read up on various training methods the better. even if you don't utilize cft much now, it may become a good tool later.  i blathered on for months before i finally got my kettle bells, but all the while i was reading and learning about the training techniques and preparing myself.    i think we all have a lot we can learn from the ancient peoples. they were technologically behind us, but way ahead of us in many ways.  and you are right, whatever inspires us, motivates us and energizes us is a very powerful tool in all our endeavors, training and otherwise.  keep us posted on your work and progress! I have been looking into and incorporating more bodyweight workouts into my routines.  In searching, I have stumbled across Natural Movement, which is a style of training that uses the most basic of moves to get a good workout. It is running, jumping, swimming, etc. and a lot of it (outdoorsy stuff). I think I'm going to use this as my weekend workout from now on, weather permitting. It might be of interest to you.
