Hi guys, I just started WD 3 days ago and i have been feeling amazing, im basically fasting throughout the day with a little fruit/veggie juice and some whey protein also alot of minerals, vitamins and some supplements.

My question is, have you guys know or are success storys of people who use the warrior diet to gain lean muscle?  Im still very skeptical since this diet pretty much contradicts everything i have read or heard for my entire life.  Esp when it comes to strength training.

Any first hand knowledge would be awesome. thanks.

I haven't been on it for very long, but I can tell you, that is exactly what I started it for (lean muscle, burn fat) and that is exactly whats happened.  As much as you think it doesn't make sense, a lot of the information out there contradicts itself.  For example, I can find just as much information to make a case for not eating before a workout as I can for the opposite.  Right now, medical research usually only involves one or two variables at a time and thats usually the problem.  And they also usually completely ignore the unthinkable impact hormones have on your performance.

Make sure you get your post-recovery meals and follow-up recovery meals and you can definitely pack on some muscle while getting shredded.  If you read Maximum Muscle Minimum Fat, it completely explains everything.  The whole glucagon/insulin balance is really key in my opinion.  Keeping insulin levels minimized while not completely starving your muscle glycogen seems to be what keeps the other hormones elevated.

In my case I've gone from 192 to 183 and I'm way faster and stronger and much leaner than the 9 lb drop reflects.  Something about that tiny tinge of hunger in the back of your head really will make you push harder as crazy as it sounds and there's no way to medically/scientifically test it, it just does.

Good choice, ChenZhen!

I would also like to add Jochen Grässel to the choices, who is also coached by Jürgen Reis and on the Warrior Diet.

He's 46 and competes at national bodybuilding contests. Clean and natural.

Peak athlete of the year in my opinion - for all those who can relate to this term coined by Jürgen Reis.

Awesome, keep em coming guys!

Usurper, i completely agree, i do crossfit and the WD has improved everything exp mental focus and intensity.  I can push through barriers where normally i would feel like im going to puke.  Not having a digestive system full of food makes a huge impact.

I am logging my Warrior Diet experiment. I have been a lifelong lifter, and my lean mass is around 180. I'm trying to see how much, if any muscle I lose during the WD.

i might post some pictures of myself but i'd rather wait till summer, gotta be looking good Tongue

but i think it should go without saying WD is NOT going to give you giant muscles, muscular hypertrophy is an adaptation to a given stressor, namely big weights.

lately i've done very little of anytihg else apart from lifting, just cause it's fun i guess, now i train to keep small(ish) so maximise strength to weight ratio but i've still gotten very big spinal erectors from it, namely because they're stabilisers in most movements.

so i would say that it wont cause noticeable muscular hypertrophy, but it will definately allow it.

i do eat protein like crazy now, just cause i crave it but i'm sure that helps.
