I was checking out Today show on MSNBC and found a few important videos I wanted to pass along to you AED'ers

The truth about uterine fibroids
http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/26184891/vp/27848348#27848348

The facts about uterine fibroids
http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/26184891/vp/27786305#27786305

some quotes on this video:
"they are hereditary"
"...we do know that about 1/3 of all women have fibroid tumors, most are not symptomatic...but the number is significantly increasing in african american women..."
"could it be diet do you think?"
"there's no evidence for that....there's no evidence for that (she repeats this) we only know that these tumors are benign and that estrogen makes them grow"

from what is reported here is that  surgery seems to be the only option to get rid of them and prescribing the BCP for pain management.
With the amount of pesticides found in produce, meat, dairy that affects our endocrine system and crippling our sex organs and cycles I find it highly suspicious that she says "there's no evidence of that" when asked about diet, either they know about it or are completely idiotic about how food affects the chemistry in the human body and then laced with toxic chemicals...

--- note on the website that is promoted in this video suggests the hormone treatment.

Short-Term Fibroid Relief
Hormone treatment
Medications called GnRH agonists offer short-term relief from uterine fibroid symptoms. GnRH agonists induce a temporary chemical menopause by reducing estrogen levels causing the fibroids to decrease in size. However, the fibroids usually grow back to their pre-treatment size when the medication is discontinued. back to chart

i really wish we could see this type of research or at least coverage on men's health... at least i havent ran across any...

and lastly....Learn to put yourself first - Jillian Michaels.. love her!

Warrior thanks for posting these web sites. I have had fibroids so found this very interesting!
I am at the moment using this diet and also progesterone cream to try to balance my hormones.
Hopefully it will work !!
