anniversary and cheating on the diet
«

Today, my wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary. My 17 year old daughter decided she would cook dinner for us. She made a real nice Greek style chicken and potato dish. She also made a real decadent, rich, unhealthy dessert. But it sure tasted good. I did have a large salad and I did get plenty of calories Warrior style but the AED suffered. So I suppose I'll go back on the detox phase for a few days and continue on from there. I splurged today but it was a special occasion and it was worth it.

Yes, congrats on your 25th anniversary!
Following the detox or hgh-fat phase as Ori describes them in the AED book would be a good idea in terms of helping your body deal with the onslaught of food it received recently. If you indulge in junk on an occasion, or simply heavily overeat one night, especially on food that may be questionable in terms of health-promoting ingredients, that it makes sense to give your body some time to heal itself, since it is tiresome and hard on the gastrointestinal track to have to process junk. In short, undereating may be of particular importance after a night of splurging, or after any occasion of indulgence for that matter, and in these cases it is also important to emphasise a sensible dinner that evening in order to prolong detoxification. Hope this helps.

Charles, congrats on the anniversary! And enjoy it. It's not going to kill you to blow the diet on occasion. However, just remember that as you fine tune your body and purge it of all the crap, it'll become much more sensitive to bad foods. I've faced that issue myself. That's why this diet is so easy to stick to, because you feel so great when you're on it. At any rate, check out this Friday's newsletter, when it comes out. It's about the Follow Up phase, which is where most of us on here exist these days.

I'm glad that I stumbled across this post since I will be celebrating my birthday in a week. The answer was just what I thought it would be. It's impossible to make a healthy cake, even with whole grain flour, so I thought that if I had just one small piece, then detoxed again for up to 7 days afterwards, that I'd be fine. It is quite true that the more healhfully you eat, the less attractive it becomes to contemplate unhealthy choices.
