thanks for the encouraging words, and right back at you! this is such a blessing to have a forum where you can share your progress and see how others are getting results. i make a point not to talk much about my cleansing symptoms in the open, since so many people see this plan as extreme and damaging. if they only knew. hopefully seeing my results will changes some closed minds. ive written out an 8 point plan for the very beginning stages of slowly moving into an eating plan such as this, for folks who arent educated about fasting, undereating, or even the concept of insulin resistance. im emailing it to family and friends. i dove right in since i knew fasting felt great in the past. how wonderful to be able to reap the benefits everyday! keep at it!

Congrats Rachel!
Just wanted to give you a pat on the back for your success.
I will admit, that as a female, I am a bit disenchanted with this forum because there are more men than women here and its hard to see from the history from other women what their long-term results are like. Im on week 2 now and Im going to start logging in here.
glad to see youre drinking 100oz of water. i am only at 80oz a day but need to work on the early morning chugging to get myself going.
I believe that water is a great benefit to this lifestyle especially because we are 70-80% water and its good for the metabolism and burning of fat and cleansing.
keep it up!

I agree with you Warrior Godess regarding this www with regard to women. I think it mainly due to the diets popularity with body builders and lean muscle etc.

hmmmm , body building,,,,(hand on chin) i guess i could be one,,,,not until i "rip" about 60 lbs off my frame LOL. i think it would be great to have at least a few of us ladies post a longer term account of our progress and challenges. we may not be body building per se, but we sure are health building! and it does inspire to read accounts of months long progresses. i would love to make a study of how many people, male or female, reach healing crisis (fatigue, emotional unbalance, rashes ect) and push through the process instead of abandoning the plan itself. its so tragic to see people work so hard and reach what is actually a victory, in form of a healing crisis, which may or may not be uncomfortable and scary, just to blame the diet program and abandon the very disciplines which are putting them on the road to health in the first place. if you are having symptoms that are disturbing, and you start back eating high energy foods during the day, of course you are going to feel better. you have halted the cleansing process and that feels great initially, but the price you pay is hindering a beautiful and life sustaining cleanse. i suppose the hardest thing for hard core trainers to do, if they reach a crisis with fatigue and exhaustion, is to simply allow themselves rest. plain 'ole rest. stay on the plan, but possibly halt or lower trainer,,,just for tiny time. i bet a break from training would allow them to get past their healing crisis, and push even harder , with more astounding results than ever.....wow, im a windbag,,,sorry guys, have a great day!!!

Rachel,
Can you tell us your stats and give a sample of your daily eating patterns and foods and daily workout activity?
It seems youve lost quite a bit so far and that is really awesome
I noticed you said you were doing daily walks for 30 min but im curious to know what time you do them and what your workout looks like now.
Youve lost what... approx 12 pounds in the past 6 weeks?
thanks again!

hi WG! i have lost so much around my limbs, neck , face, back, but my belly is a stubborn problem. ive read visceral fats respond well to calorie restriction, and since i love to feast instead of eating light meals, ive incorporated a night off my eating window this week and will do so for the indefinite future. yesterday i did a salt water flush before my eating window opened and it destroyed my appetite, so ive fasted. today im feeling out of this world energy and clarity. i just walked an hour, am about to do my resistance training after i get offline here. my workouts now consist of tricep dips, push ups (girlie ones) , shoulder press, lateral raise, bicep curls, and that leanie over thing you do where you work your lats with dumbells, not sure what its called. ive compressed my sets and reps to increase intensity and keep my heart and lungs pumping. i intend to eventually incorporate a brief/or long walk after my workouts to enhance that fatty acid flush response. i believe thats kind of a mini HIIT thing. you do interval stuff, get the fats swirling, then dive into to a longer cardio workout to take avantage of that fatty acid spike. i dont actually time my walks. i just head out once or twice a day when the spirit moves me. i need to get more structured though.
aside from my once a week fast, i do wd pretty closely. with an eye to incorporating alll the principles as i progress. i have a four to five hour eating window that starts up in the evening and end around midnight. for now, i eat a fruit salad of bananna/apple, or banana/pear with tons of cinnamon on it. i wait and then have a large veggie salad (spinach, carrot, celery, olives, peppers, squash, calantro, olive oil mayo with tumeric all over the whole moutain) i try to eat cinnamon and tumeric everyday. even if i make a curry, i tend to add turmeric to the curry powder since its said to have the most anti inflammatory qualities. when i hear something might be good for us, and i love the flavor any way, i fugure, why not eat as much as i can, its a win/win. i take efa's, multivitamin, swig a probiotic between salads. i LOVE coffee and still put sugar free cream/splenda in it (bad)... i love to blend oolong tea with one bag of lipton tea and make iced tea plus. for some reason ive never been able to enjoy healthy teas as much as lipton, so i blend.
all in all i find myself adapting well, and listening to my body is becoming more easy as the weeks go by. i suppose we'll never know how much is intuition or how much is the subconscious pushing us in its own gentle way, but who cares really?
gulp....stats??? im far too shy to say how much i weigh just yet, but when i lose more and get more confident, ill post a stat profile with pride. im just a big gal. always have been. but with these tools and all this support, i know we all can reach whatever goals we put our minds to. thanks for all the info and support you provide WG, most appreciated. to all the wd'ers too!

ok back, finishing off my eating plan from the salad i go to proteins (eggs/chicken/beef/). i put a little cooked veggie with my protein, but not much since i m getting pretty full by then. i love alvacodos, peanut/almond butter) as my window closes i tend to grab a few pieces of ezekial bread with whatever butter and honey or sugar free preserves. i know this is counter productive, but the carbs really help me sleep well. im learning not to be afraid of healthy fats. years of "dieting" have made me avoid them. now i seem to be able to enjoy them and benefit from them. ok, ive written a book, now i must go sweat a bit k, have a great day!

Sounds like everyone is making great progress. Keep up all the good work! I'm still hanging out and plugging away. I've really ramped up the workouts, going to be participating in my first kettlebell competition in March, so I'm finding I'm focused on that and not as much on the food.
I've been WD-ing for over a year now. I've managed to keep off 30 pounds, but I'd like to lose 15-20 more. It's greatly improved my health. My typical day consists of mainly fruit. Some days I'll have a small salad, or maybe some plain organic yogurt and berries, or cottage cheese, or broth, and lots of water. I don't sweat the small stuff anymore if I go over a night here and there. I like the freedom and I like food. I make a lot of soups, especially since it's been cold here in PA and I do a lot of rice and black beans.
As for workouts, it's been 5 days a week of kettlebells. Sticking with what I have to do at the comp, which is the long cycle clean and jerk for 10 minutes with 1 hand switch. As an amateur I can use a 12kg, but I'm thinking of using the 16kg since I can complete the set with that already. I'm shooting to improve the numbers though. I do lots of swings, jerks, cleans, presses, overhead holds, and rack holds for time right now until the comp is over.
Hope everyone continues to make progress and stay strong.

benefits to immune response due when undereating/fasting:
1) elevated macrophage activity
2) increased cell-mediated immunity (lymphocytes)
3) increased immunoglobulin levels (passive immunity)
4) heightened monocyte killing and bacterial function (phagocytosis with the mostist)
5) enhanced natural killer t cell activity (warriors)
basically you get to laze around not paying attension while your immune system and cleansing organs do the hardest work. billions of tiny employees working 24 hours a day, cleaning up your mess and working for free. we should feel guilty.

LOL Rachel youre too funny
its fun to think of it that way, but dont forget that you and your employees are one and the same!
this diet is bringing me back in touch with my employees and we have conferences everyday and we're doing some major renovations to the company and the goal is we'll all come out more competitive and marketable in the end
We WILL survive the economic downturn! lol
thanks for keeping up the posts in here and staying active. For me, another woman doing the WD, since we are only but a few, is a great motivator and support and its helping me actually apply the stuff i already know but never bothered to follow in the past. For the initial phase of this diet, I dont think I would be as successful as I am without it because everyone on here has taught me so much in addition to Ori and his work.
Here is a program on Science Nova on PBS i saw a few years ago and i was able to dig it up.
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/sciencenow/3401/01.html
there is a lot of research and work done on how lifespan and health is connected to hunger and feeding... Ori has done a great job in bringing this to light.

good info all around, the nova film is amazing. heres a true story, i helped rehabilitate this 80 y/o woman after a hip fracture and then proceeded to be her caregiver for two years. she had been very athletic all her life, daily running, jujitsu, the works, very artistic and well traveled person. i noticed her diet was very sparse. she ate what she wanted, when she wanted, but very little. she drank alcohol, i think she even smoked during a period in her life. she just celebrated her 81st birthday this january, and even though she has health challenges, she just keeps going and going and going,,,,i have to admit, there were days i would walk her great dane an hour and head out with her into her daily routine,,,and she would leave me tired and worn out. the very best thing about warrior diet for me, is it gives those who have been addicted to eating, stretched stomach and all, an alternative to stapling, gastric bypass ect. im skipping a couple of eating windows now, my body seems to be saying,,hurry this fat burning up! we like this! since i eat in a window and Intermittently fast, im cutting about 4000 calories from my weekly total. im still a warrior, but with a llttle extra calorie restriction thrown in to expedite my real goal..being a runner. im turning forty in april, and ive never been an ambitious person, but if i could just become a runner before i die, i wll die a content person. everthing is the same, fruits, salads, improper food combinations (ouch) but im dropping the dreaded belly fat now (this is war) some friends of mine are grilling ribs tonight, so ill be cheat nighting it tonight, but in my window,,, and then have a night of abstinence tomorrow night. really peaceful now. on the right track. a shout out to all the warriors!

ROCK ON RACHEL!! that is totally awesome.
keep going in this direction. you are on the right path and you can do it ...because you are already doing it
right now
.
i think about my life 40-50-60 years ahead and beyond. i want to be one of those women who are still svelt and possess that animal attraction.
you know like Sophia Loren
hubba hubba! Even Mae West was a tart in her 70s and 80s and her face still looked good.. and i say despite some of these women having plastic surgery or whatever... its their bodies im also talking about. they are still active and possess that "joie d'vivre".
if you happen to get bored of your workout or need a change of pace....you should check out activities outside and maybe look at going on a hike. getting out in nature is sooo meditative and really gets you connected. wherever you are, i bet you could find a book of waterfalls and hiking locations in your region. i live in california and the book i got from my gf is super thick and lists 200 waterfalls all over the state. hiking and camping make great healthy getaways, not to mention totally cheap or even free!!
this new lifestyle is going to make you more ambitious naturally and effortlessly ... sounds like it already!

week 8: experiments and adventures in fasting!
«
Reply #27 on:

Week 8 is going really well. A couple of days into week 7, I embarked on a every other day fasting cycle. This wasn't really a decision I made, I just listened to my body and it had no craving for food unless I fasted. From one eating window to another was about 40 hours of water fasting per 48 hour period. The water fasting was more aggressive than my old days of juice fasting, but with little to no hunger issues, as you arent taking in any sugar. After about one week (started on feb. 2nd), it became impossible for me to lift due to muscle fatigue. Toward the end of my experiment, feb 12th, I had trouble even doing my daily walks. I could work out fine the day afer my feeding window, but not after my fasting night. This was the cue I needed to adjust and this week I implementing a two day a week feeding window skip, to lessen the cleansing and provide more fuel for working out. We'll see, right? My goal is to maximize calorie restriction and detox, but with the ability to coninue my exercise. I suppose that is the goal of all WD'ers, to find that balance between the two cycles, and then progress from there. Yesterday and today my work outs went fantastic, I'm fueled up and good to go again, but I'll fast on Sunday night and monitor from there.
This is my two month mark on the WD, and now the WD in addition to Intermittent Fasting. I see my individualized program as a temporay period of obesity aleviation. My beginning dimensions were very crippling, I was in a tight size 22 pant. Today I am in a comfortable size 18. I've shed 4 pant sizes in two months! I know that sounds like some wacked out marketing story, but it's real, and I no longer feel physically and emotionally disabled by my huge size. Im still obese, but I feel powerful and strong, and in control thanks the the principles layed out by this plan. So I'll report my dimensions again on week 16. Can't imagine the shrinkage will keep up with this rapid pace, but we'll see!
Oh, another thing I realized this week was, if I wait longer than an hour after my PWO fresh fruits before I open my window, my digestion goes much better, and my ability to eat comfortably is much improved.

I was having a conversation with one of the raw fooder girls at rosstraining.com regarding her diet.It seems that she also did IF with her raw food diet and when she started she was losing weight like crazy without even worrying about calories(she once had 6 avocados -_-).After a while she wondered if she will continue to lose and become a miniature of her former self but the weight stabilized at the most ideal number, that is her high school years weight! So regarding your fat loss you might reach at that point
Just wanted to share

excellent. i know the warrior diet is the adjunct i always lacked to maintain any losses i got will fasting before. after a forty hour fast, i always know i have to stay in my window, and eat predominately warrior principles no matter how much fasting i do in addition. fasting certianly doesnt give one permission to eat whatever , however, no matter how scrumdillyumptious..
thanks for the encouragement!
