I say it can.
I just got done bicycling ~50 miles, sprinting up hills, and generally having having a good time at around 17-24 mph when not going all out. All on an empty stomach, without breakfast, and just water.
By now, according to modern sports nutrition, every muscle on my skeleton should be falling off its bone, sloughing through the skin due to lack of any ratio at all of protein and carbs. I should have bonked. I should be done forever, and I'm not.
And I feel like I'll be ready to do it all again tomorrow.
For all of you worried about time spent excercising, messing up your hormones, decreasing performance bla bla bla-STOP. Everything will be okay, go out there and hammer down, come back and recover. Everything will be all right, I promise.
Just enjoy the freedom you have to do whatever you love doing without the need to shove special interest sugar goop down your throat every 15 minutes. Pf!
I (and I'm sure others out there, speak up!) am evidence this diet will not harm your ability to go long and go hard. Just thought I'd let people know its possible, and it works great.

I like to think of the current "logic" as socially engineered propaganda designed to make the human being more docile, and more willing to open their wallets for the sake of food (economy boost).
And yes, its awesome. Always has been, always is. Thats what I like about this style of eating; it allows one to be amazing and eat amazing.
So no one else here rides a crotch rocket outside of CFT?

hi dano3000
thanks for your reply on my thread relating to training on water fasting
it sounds like you do your training in the morning??
have you or others water fasted all day, say get up at 6am work till 3pm then train at either (in my case) 4pm or 6pm then start the eating cycle (no fruit no veg no eggs, no nuts, no Protein Powder)
to train like this is my goal to maximise fat loss but i am still injured and can't train as yet
i have in the past done this maybe 2-3 times and i have found that the training is very hard and i can't go fast, but in those occasions i was coming back from injury and i am not sure if it is due to the fasting or the loss of fitness or the low carbs i was on at that time
so keen to hear other people's experiences
it may motivate me to do it that way or stop me from doing it all wrong
regards

My usual activity begins early morning with a 1 hour bike ride to work, focusing on climbing/sprints. Since I go to school, I'll usually sprint back home in about 30-50 minutes minutes depending which way I feel like going, and do homework. After school (either at ~5:30 or 6:40, depending on the day) I'll come home and do quick, hard supersets for about 15 minutes. Afterwards I'll have my main meal. I water fast these days, although somedays I push a little too hard and need something to get my blood sugar up for concentration during classes/homework. Carrots, or an apple, or a half cup of yogurt, nothing major.
On weekends or days off I go on the long rides, 30-50 miles with lots of hills, lots of sprints, lots of do it or die climbs, etc. Usually I start midday on an empty stomach, and get done anywhere from 2 pm to 4pm. Afterwards I'll snack a bit; cup of yogurt, maybe some tomatoes, an egg, yet again nothing major. My main meals are exceptionally huge on these days.
I do have many many many carb days (almost every day) and my body fat, muscle, vigor, etc are awesome.
Anything else you wanna know feel free to ask.
