Hello

I am interested in purchasing whey protein products however after reading the warrior diet I am unsure of other whey protein products and was concerned of the possibility of them containing estrogen or simply not being organic. I almost purchased some whey from optimum 100% whey protein but was not sure about this, I was wondering if anyone knows of any products other then that produced on this website which are organic and pesticide free? With regards to the warrior whey products specifically I was wondering how one uses the organic whey product rather than the warrior milk. Do you mix it with water or milk? I noticed there are no flavours. I do not wish to purchase something untill I know exactly what it is I am buying. The warrior milk on the other hand seems straight forward enough and acts as a milk shake like most protein supplements I have researched. It may seem like a silly question but there are no specific instructions about using the whey products on the website and I am new to all this due to my traditional rejection of protein supplements as I come from a martial arts rather then a body building or athelete background. However Ori's insight has elucidated many things for me.

Thanks

Optimum nutrition is a very high quality protein in my opinion. I have been using it for years.

I disagree that Optimum is a high quality brand.  I have worked in various aspects of the supplement/pharma industry for 12 years.  Early on, when Optimum began with the Costello brothers, I held it in better regard.  Since then, I believe quality has been sacrificed to go mass market, not to mention they certainly don't use Organic milk.  They have recently been purchased by Glanbia, an even larger protein manufacuturer.  This may provide a more stable price for protein which has been volatile lately but it does not improve quality.  If you do chose ON Whey over Warrior Milk or another Organic Whey, I would only recommend you use the Natural version.  They use stevia and fructose to sweeten.  No artificial colors.  I do question the Natural Flavor which can be suspect.  Optimum is a big player in the market, a decent option, but certainly not the best.

Universal's Ultra Whey Pro is what I use. One of the reasons that led me to buy it was because it doesn't contain ion-exchange whey, Thus containing stuff like Lactoferrin and Immunoglobulins that ori mentioned were important. It also contains BCAA and Glutamine and was ultrafiltered at low tempertures for best nutritional values and so on... It's all babble to me, But it sounds much better than all the other stuff I can get my hands on around here.

Humble I couldn't agree with you more.  Not only did Optimum used to have severe quality issues that it was even featured on a popular news program stating that ON, among a few other big supplement companies, did not put exactly what they said they did into the product.  Since the broadcast, which was years ago, they certainly stepped up to the plate on their labeling to reflect what is contained within; however among the best products on the market it is not even close.  It is not organic, raw, pesticide free, highest quality whey, etc.  It uses unhealthy sweetners as well as contains bi-products and fillers that are also unhealthy.

I switched from Optimum to Jarrow Formulas after reading bad things about Optimum on this forum last year (thanks ab1 Wink). I've been using the Jarrow all natural whey for over 6 months now, and am really glad I made the switch.

I am currently using the ON Gold Standard Natural Vanilla formula, and have not experienced the "gastric discomfort" that has accompanied other whey products.  I plan on trying out the Warriors Milk once my trash can sized tub is empty, but I can't say anything bad about the ON Natural...other than a strange after taste that is usually masked by introducing a banana into my post workout shake.
