No need to be a douche.

I could send you a pic of me but unfortunatly I was to embarressed to take a photo of myself before I started.  I went from 27% body fat at 197 to 11% body fat at 173.  I guess I could post a pic of myself now and then post another one when I get down to my 7% goal (which I will attain).

You know, the people here have nothing to prove to those not on the warrior diet.  Ori doesn't send me a check if I convert someone to WD.  I come to this formum to get help about my diet.... so don't go expecting everyone to prove to you that it works.  If you are trying to figure out if it works then just try it.  If it works for you great give us some feedback on what works, if it doesn't get lost.

It's not about sending ME a pic. It is about this forum in general, it just sux. All these empty stories with no solid proof. So why don't you collect all the pictures in all the topics ( zero?) and get lost?

KB

Those are pretty impressive stats. Besides Ori, I hadn't heard of many people gaining 10 pounds of muscle while losing that much fat.

That said, and without being a douche, I am curious regarding the time frame that it took, your approach with the kettlebells for such hypertrophy, and what method you utilize to get your body fat percentage?

Thanks.

First off you have to consider I am 6'1."  At 197lbs and 27% body fat I would only weigh 144lbs without the fat.  So I didn't and still don't have much muscle mass.

I spent most of my 20's obtaining the majority of my calories via Dr. Pepper.  I drank only soda, and never ever water.  I'm now almost 30 (in 1 month) and I've lost 2 teeth and need 3 root canals.  In May of last year I was getting light headed after walking up the stairs.  I couldn't do more than 1/2 a pull-up, and I felt like crap all the time.  I was actually thinking that it was all part of getting older.

Finally I guess I got tired of being felling like a loser and decided to do something about it.

I weighed myself at the beginning of May 2009 and I weighed 203.  I started running.  I hated it.  I got reweighed and body fat tested towards the end of the Month.  I was 197 @ 27%.  I quit the sodas cold turkey and started my own diet.  It was called just try to eat healthy.  I ate a lot of beans, salad, and grilled chicken.  I also had a commercial whey protein from Wal-Mart as a recovery meal.  I started Kettlebell in the middle of the summer sometime.  That's when I realized how out of shape I was.  I couldn't snatch the 16kg more then 10 x 5 at a 15sec/15sec pace.  Seriously in 5 minutes I would nearly throw up.  I started to become obsessed with getting healthy.  Not just looking good, but really being healthy...  I thought maybe I could even be the superhuman that Pavel talks about.

In the book Enter the Kettlebell I found out about the warrior diet.  I ordered it the next day (early November).  I read it front to back at least 3 times and downloaded the fat solution eBook.  When I started the WD I weighed 189(25bmi).  I was no longer obese!

I took the WD very seriously.  It bugged the hell out of my wife.  She doesn't really approve of my diet.  I cook for myself now:).  She does however like the results.  I lost 10lbs through the Thanksgiving Christmas break.  I suffered a brief period of weakness in early January.  I don't think I was receiving ample carbs.  As soon as I picked up on the carbs I started feeling strong again.  I think my glycogen stores were just low.

Today I feel better than ever, stronger than ever.  I can press 80lbs over my head with one arm, which is pretty close to half my body weight.

My main goals revolve around strength, though I do want to get down to 7% bodyweight.  I don't worry to much about the 7% body fat, and instead I focus on strength.  I treat food as fuel for my activity.  I'm learning to make tastier fuel all the time, but I do treat it like fuel.  If I don't need it I don't eat it.

I just started taking supplements a couple weeks ago but I haven't noticed any benefit yet.

I also can say that I have been very satisfied on the WD.  Surprisingly I enjoy the underrating phase as much or more than the overeating phase.  I like the boundless energy I have during the day.  I feel like I could kick ass at anytime.

Thanks for the response KB. It seems the ten pounds just happened!

Having followed a similar path, though starting with 'The Warrior Diet' and then 'Enter the Kettlebell,' I want to know where my ten pounds of muscle are?!?

Though a couple of inches shorter, I began with similar stats. The 'program minimum' and 'rite of passage' later, body fat hovers between ten and twelve percent. Like you, the 36KG (the kettlebell closest to one half my body weight) goes up easily with one hand, though not the other. Having reached this point a number of times, in the past, I think I finally have the program, the technique, and everything else figured out. Next 'Test Day' is in April, we'll see what happens then.

As a sidebar/personal challenge, I received the 'Bulldog' as a gift yesterday. At 53-55% my bodyweight, that'll allow me to say I really completed the rite of passage. Now, if I could only get my snatches in order!

Best of luck in achieving your goals.

Snatches - you might want to drop down to the 16kg and really push yourself.  It's a good weight to get your form down with.  It will counter your weight enough that you will be able to feel the pull.  I'm going to go to a KB class here pretty soon.  I'm excited to do some work on my snatch as well.  I also want to get my swing critiqued.  Also you may need to eat more.  I still think most of my muscle gain had to do with the fact that my muscles were probably atrophyed before I started.
