Exercise
Woke up three times during the night and did not have enough energy for a kettlebell workout.I am going to do a 5 minutes long cycle clean and jerk for each hand tomorrow though...Its gonna be a killer. My left bicep and buttocks are a little sore although i can not say why the buttocks
Eating
6 poached eggs,2 cucumbers
300g of chicken with mayonnaise, spinach and mixed leafy salad
150g of stranded yogurt with handful of almonds and walnuts and some cocoa
Comments
Another high fat day and i have to say that today my stomach is just fine!Guess yesterday i did not cook the chicken that well........I am really thinking of giving the anabolic diet another shot these days, maybe starting from Monday since we have some fruits in the fridge and they will spoil if i dont consume them...Maybe i will do a carb load with fruits/oats/kefir tomorrow morning, after my workout and then go back to high fat/protein for the rest of the day and weekend!I can see that i look somewhat thin these two days with the carb depletion although i dont know how it affected my body fat.For the sake of science i will weight myself tomorrow morning before the workout and on Saturday when i wake up!Cheers!

Oh feels so good to carb up!I screwed somewhat the amount(again). When i did the high fat eating for the last 2 days,i had my meals written down and damn i followed them to the T without thinking of eating something else.Today i did not write the meals down so i practically ate what carb i could find
I had like 7-9 bowel movements which are a lot
The long cycle modified-sissy-version was something knew and admittedly hard! But i finished! When the weathers gets a little warmer here i am thinking of splitting my conditioning into sprints, shadow boxing and long cycle! They combine so many benefits
Might do a fast tomorrow but in the night a friend of mine will treat us for her birthday! So i better enjoy the fast for as long as it holds!

You are doing great with the kettlebell workouts. Isn't it amazing how your body adapts to the improved conditioning and strength.
Keep it up.

Forgot to write my log yesterday
14-2-2009
Exercise
Ladder
Kettlebell Clean and Jerk 1 each arm
Hindu pushups 2
Squat 3
1-5-1
Pistols 3x3
Handstand 2x20 sec
Eating
Some fruit snacking in the morning
Salad with many veggies,6 poached egg and 100 g of feta
Went to Applebees(dont know if anyone knows of this shop) and had something like chicken with some tortillas
15-2
Workout
One month ago i did a pretty insane deck of cards that made me almost cry.I promised to give it a try one month later,so here it is!
Spades Left hand swings with the kettlebell
Hearts Squat Jumps
Clubs Right hand swings with the kettlebell
Diamonds Pushups
Time 18:10
Eating
Tuna salad with some organic mayonnaise, olive oil, handful of walnuts
Spinach with olive oil,100g gouda cheese and 225 g of ground beef
~I later found out that the beef had some bread in it and decided to cut the carb food~
6 eggs poached,200g of gouda
Comments
The workout was intense but i completed it nonetheless!I am so proud
Thats one more workout most guys here in Greece will never do!Tomorrow we have kettlebell workout
I was wondering if there really is any meaning posting my diet since its far from the warrior standards...I want to give anabolic diet another try to see whether the benefits really are gonna happen. If the dont,i try with more balanced meal choices throughout the day and then...guess back to the wd if nothing else works
Its gonna be a pretty expensive week with the extra food, but i hope i can get through it.My biggest concern is how my body is gonna respond on Tuesday and Wednesday where i will surely have 2 workouts,conditioning/kettlebells in the morning and capoeira in the evening!

i would appreciate your posts if you kept them up. you're very detail oriented, and i bet the warrior diet is your base diet plan, even though you are modifying and trying a few different things. daily posts are an inspiration to see people that committed and focused on their health and training goals. im wding five days a week, fasting two for now. i see the warrior diet as my base to work from, with the ultimate goal of wding permanently. i envy those who can stay on it verbatim every single day, but i bet the reason why ori's book says fasting in some parts and undereating in others is, each individual will need a little wiggle room depending on whats happening with thier health and strength levels. i admire your flexibility. if it wasnt for an adventurous spirit, none of us would even have tried this plan. hope you keep posting!

Thanks a lot Rachel!I will continue posting my diet, only for you
It goes without saying that the Warrior diet is my base, and a pretty solid one i have to say.I think that the book itself is like a bible when it comes to nutrition and even though i have read a lot of things these past years,i will always compare them with the Warrior Diet!
Exercise
Warm up,30 wrist curls with a 5 kg dumbbell
Jerks 7
Bent over Rows 7
Russian Twist 14
One Handed Squat 7
One Handed Swings 15
Rest 45 sec
Repeat 4 times
Stretching
GTG pull ups, around 5-6 times during the day
Eating
6 eggs, handful of walnuts and almonds
150-175 g of ground beef,bunch of spinach with olive oil,100g feta,100g cheddar
Avocado,150 of broccoli with olive oil,100g of cheddar
Comments
Workout was good and i think i could have done one more set.I am thinking of going for 5 sets next week, and then i will either change my routine or i will try to improve numbers. We shall see.Tomorrow i am gonna do some long cycle clean and jerks(5-6 minutes each hand) and i have a capoeira class in the evening.Hope it does not start snowing
Eating was good and i have to say that i have a cheese addiction...They just taste sooo good!I am trying to find out some other low carb cheeses but i cant find some.Hopefully i will go to a bigger supermarket one of these days and i will buy some...
I am really impressed to find out that i am not feeling sluggish during the day
Fatty foods are supposedly robbing us from our energy when consumed in large amounts but i dont have any problem! Also today was the first day that i did not have to lay down, around noon, for my usual 30-45 minutes break.I only had a headache around evening but it got away after some minutes.Second day into the anabolic diet and i am feeling okay!Guess avoiding all those salamis, peperonis, bacons and sugarless Jell-o is really giving me an edge!If i can also keep my carb up clean, then i will be really happy!
Finally something that i forgot the past days.My weight on Friday was
81.4 kg
14.9% body fat
So we are talking for a 1 kg or 2 pounds gain into muscle,ONLY since last week.I weighted my self 3 more times but except from tiny ups and down on my kilos, the body fat was a solid 14.9!Finally,two weeks under the 15% mark

Nice work on the numbers.
I just want to give a little warning about the anabolic diet. I have tried it before and know many people who have and when it comes to the carb up days resist your cravings with all your power. Theres just something about seeing grains and being around high carb foods when the weekend comes around that your going to want to eat everything in sight. Thats why i stopped the AD. I have adopted some of its principals into my diet but 5 days of high fat was too much for me. Also i noticed people use that diet as an excuse to eat whatever they want on the weekends.
Sorry if i sound like i am putting the anabolic diet down, im just hoping that it can work out for you if you know the pitfalls to avoid. when you carb up eat intelligently and if 5 days is too much high fat try 4 then 2 carb ups. i follow a 3 day high fat 2 day high carb, but thats what works for me you may be different.
best of luck

How have you been measuring the amount of food you eat in your meals to know exactly how many grams of almonds you are eating etc?

Hey thanks for the advice!Yeah, the greatest pitfall in the AD is to eat crappy carbs on your carb ups but i am not worrying that much.I usually eat crap when
1)i go out with friends
2)dont have prepared some decent meals for the day
This Saturday i will not go out so i will stay in home. Here goes 1.Also i am gonna buy oatmeal, kefir, fruits, veggies and perhaps some healthy multigrain bread to make one or two peanut butter sandwiches since i somewhat crave them.Hopefully i will resist any kind of temptations!
Can i ask you some questions regarding the AD?
1)Did you really follow the bw*18 calories?I have been eating slightly less than my maintenance(its 3200 and i eat 2800) and although i seem somewhat leaner than before, when i stepped up in the scale this morning i was 83 kg and 15.6 bf!!!I said WTF???Today i will keep it around 2300 and will try the same for the next days as well!
2)How was your bowel movements?Yesterday i had only one and it was not that great.Today it was somewhat better.I found out that a glass of water with half a lemon in it helps a lot
3)If i come up with any other question can i pm you?
Thanks in advance!
loscalzocanfly
Most of the times i weight my food!Other times i use common sense. For example if the pack of cheddar says that it weights 200g then i cut half of it and i have 100g!Also regarding nuts.A handful is a handful but since i was wondering how much of each nuts i can put in my hand i took a handful of every nut and weighted it.Turns out that a full handful of each nut is around 25-28g,around an oz in other words! Its not that hard when you get used to it

1. No i didn't follow the recommended calories. I tried AD after being on the wd/aed and i had a hard time eating that much. i think my recommended was about 3500 but i only ate 25-2800.
2. My bowels are as healthy as can be and always have been. I average 2-3 a day and that didn't change on AD. There is a lot of fiber in almonds which i rely on for most of my fat. Coffee helps too.
3. Absolutely, ask anything you want. i only lasted 2-3 weeks on that diet, but i'll do my best to help.

I seem to be getting a lot of calories from cheeses!I just crave them and i have found some decent offers so i have bought a variety!Fatty foods really please and they dont make feel bloated! In fact every hour after a meal i can see that my body is leaner that some weeks before.I hope the scale agrees on Saturday....
Hmmm yes almonds seem like a nice idea since too much spinach is not that tempting for me!Guess i will try to increase nuts and lower somewhat the cheeses!
Thanks!!!
Workout
Frog stands 5 times.got different times ranging from 14-32 secs.30 wrist curls with 5 kg db
Long cycle clean and jerk 5 minutes each hand
40 reps each hand
Cable Workout 2 times
Pistols 3 4 3
Wheel 3 3
GTG pull ups during the day. Also did a one minute frog stand before leaving for capoeira!
1.5 hours of capoeira
Eating
6 poached eggs, handful of almonds,walnuts,75 g of spinach with olive oil
250g steak,200g broccoli with olive oil(yum!),75 g spinach,100 g cottage
125 g cottage,175 g of cheddar,handful of almonds
Comments
OK it was the first day with both capoeira and conditioning(although not a very serious one) and it went good! Not great, but still it was good!I was happy with the one minute frog stand and the new record on the Long Cycle! The cable workout made my arms fry so i did not did a 3rd round.Tried some wheels today after a long time and i have somewhat lost the form and the lower back strength damn!On a side note i also nailed down another acrobatic today so to sum up it was a great day!
Weighed myself today and i was somewhat shocked since the numbers were in fact high but on the other hand i can see that i am leaner!
Totally weird!Maybe i will cut down the calories for the time being(i get around 2800-2900,but i am working out twice these days)Also after Ró-fhéinní idea,i will try to increase nuts, mainly almonds and walnuts and try to lower the cheeses. They have around the same price but nuts are way healthier and more beneficial in these diet!I will try to increase them to two handfuls each!Tomorrow is a kettlebell day and i also have capoeira in the evening!Hope i do well!

Exercise
Warm up,30 wrist curls,Planche
Press 5
Floor press 7
Lying Kb hangover 10
One handed lunge 9
Hand to hand swings 30
Rest 45 sec
Repeat 4 times
Stretching
GTG pull ups
1.5 hour of capoeira
Eating
6 poached eggs,75 g of spinach with 56 g tuna,olive oil and 30 g mayonnaise,handful of walnuts and hazelnuts
200 g of chicken with 10 g of mayonnaise,75 g of spinach,2 red bell peppers,one carrot with olive oil
150 g of chicken, handful of almonds and walnuts
Comments
Darn i pulled something when performing splits with my non dominant side today and it really screw me today, especially in Capoeira.I was doing cartwheels and had problems landing!Damn!I hope that by tomorrow it will be over because i have conditioning!Injury from stretching......I feel so stupid. At least capoeira was not so hard although the lesson today was something less difficult than an anaerobic workout.Still i was ok!
Oh those peppers and carrots sure have a lot of carbs!I was eating the lunch salad and when i calculated i almost spit the food! They were a really good addition to the salad but oh boy the carbs! At least i kept my daily minimum(29.9 carbs
)I have to find some really high fibrous veggies because my fiber intake is lower than the one recommended!Suggestions anyone?Nuts are somewhat expensive although i will try to increase their consumption, might even add sunflower seeds since they have so many nutrients!I have to admit that the veggies at lunch made me somewhat bloated and i had a small crash afterwards!Damn i must be really insulin sensitive!I hope to fix it with my diet.I have also been thinking of not having a complete carb up on Saturday and try to see whether i can do it next Saturday...For now,i have to research these veggies!Good night fellas!

Thanks Clutch! Its good to know that people are inspired by my experimental log!
I did not post yesterday since it was a special day where people in Greece go out and eat mainly meat.So i went out with some friends of mine from capoeira. The meal was ok,i kept i mainly to meat, some veggies and dairy(no wine or sweets, and boy did they order a lot!)The thing is that i must have eaten around 50g of carbs yesterday
So today i will probably go low calories and around 20 g of carbs. One thing for certain is that thanks to all that veggies,i had one of the best bowel movements in some time now!
Yesterday
Exercise
Shadow Boxing with 0.5 kg db's 35 sec
Kettlebell swings 15
Rest 45 sec
Repeat 5 times
Cables workout 2 times
Wheel 2*3
Eating
6 eggs,handful of almonds,walnuts and hazelnuts(ahhh my old addiction....)
200g of shark,200g of spinach with mashed avocado and balsamic vinegar, olive oil,1.5 handful of hazelnuts
Salad, some tzatziki(Greek appetizer with yogurt, garlic and some cucumber),feta and meat.A lot of it
Comments
The shadow boxing felt strong and next week i will probably increase it to 40 sec.I wanted to do some GTG pull ups but i forgot it
Although i said about capoeira, yesterday we had a music lesson and i only practiced for 15 minutes at the beginners class,so not much of a workout.Today i have only capoeira!
One thing that i have noticed is that by lowering/eliminating the dairy and increasing the nuts and veggies i seem to get somewhat bloated. Not a lot but on Sunday and Monday, where i ate a lot of cheeses i seemed to be lean all the time.I was also pissing all the time.I dont know what the problem is but i will have to experiment!Tomorrow is the carb up and i will like to say a public
THANK YOU Ró-fhéinní
for overeating with grains, despite not liking me,and telling me his experience!I really appreciate it
On a side note, yesterday i got my first high grade!9 out of 10
I was so happy that my body temperature raised
Today's the final test, and after that we will have a chance to write again at whichever lesson we failed!
