1  General Category / General Discussion / Re: kettlebell classes? on: February 24, 2011, 04:21:19 PM
I have been training with kettlebells for the last 2 years (off and on), but have been taking group classes religiously for the last 8 months.  I originally planned on taking classes for 2-3 months to brush up on my technique, and then continue to workout at home.  However, I have had so much fun doing group classes that I can honestly see myself taking group classes for a long time.

I wrestled for 12 years and played rugby at the collegiate level for 4 years, and I can honestly say that I am better conditioned and stronger now at 31 than I have ever been.  In the last 7 months, I have lost close to 50 pounds of fat and gained 8 pounds of lean mass by combining Warrior Diet and Kettlebell training.  My resting heart rate is usually 46 BPM after drinking 3 cups of coffee most mornings, and have 6 pack abs for the first time in almost 11 years.  I would emphatically recommend kettlebells.  Are they the end-all-be-all of exercising?  No.  However, you will have a lot of fun, and get to learn how to use a great tool to get in tremendous shape.
