61  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Steve's February Food Log on: February 22, 2008, 07:57:29 AM
Hey Steve, I'm seeing some cookies, candies, donuts and cake in your daily entries.  Of course we don't recommend that for those who are trying to drop the pounds, but I definitely appreciate the fact that you're being honest about your diet on here.  While I also love to eat those sorts of things on occasion,  I try to tell people to stay away from them.  However, that being said, I think you prove a point that if a person is at their ideal weight, is consistently dealing with the estrogen issue and very active, he can throw those things into the diet (in moderation) without reaping any real negative effects.  My curiosity is, regarding the sweets - do they affect you adversely the next day?  I find that when I eat those types of things, that I pay for it the next day by feeling sluggish, tired, fatigued or just plain sick.  What's your take on that?

Natural options are always better - not to knock your recipe, as it does sound good, but we don't recommend soft drinks, as they are high in chemicals and/or sugar.  There may be a good alternative, such as some lime flavored Perrier.  Just a thought.

If you want to order something that looks like a drink, then order some Perrier in a glass with lime or some other type of bottled water.  That would be my suggestion.  Actually, I usually do this whenever I eat out period.  Or, I order Voss water, if available, as I like that better.

Ori has been saying this all along.  Good study, by the way.  Furthermore, most fail to even touch the subject of ingesting the chemicals in diet sodas that are harmful to the body.

By undereating, I mean just stick to the plan with fresh fruits and veggies during the day, although if you have blood sugar issues, make sure you don't overdo the fruits.  As for whether or not eggs are better than fish, I wouldn't say so, except that eggs (organic and/or fertile) eaten with beans seem to enhance the fat burning process.  I would minimize the fish during the detox phase of the diet and eat more of it during the high fat phase.  Also, make sure that your fish is wild catch.
69  The Anti-Estrogenic Diet / Q and A / Re: Is it ok having organic buttermilk instead of kefir? on: February 15, 2008, 08:33:58 AM
There's nothing wrong with organic buttermilk, especially if it's unpasteurized.  You can get some amazing benefits from raw milk or dairy products.  I imagine that's much easier to find in Europe than in the U.S.

It sounds like you've got a good handle on things.  Make sure you take some befores and afters and give me a testimonial.  Given your discipline, I'm sure you're going to be extremely successful!

Are you supplementing at all.  It's important to ingest anti-estrogenic foods on a daily basis, such as having crucifers with your evening meal.  Your best bet to start to shake the stubborn fat is to make sure your detoxifying your body during the day while undereating and have beans and eggs with crucifers during your evening meal.  This has shown to have the best effect regarding weight loss.

74  General Category / General Discussion / Re: erythritol and xylitol on: February 14, 2008, 09:47:11 AM
Andy, I think that xylitol is oka in very small amounts, but the problem is that it causes all kinds of gastric distress when used a lot.  As for the other, I'm not sure.  I'll have to look into that, or if you find out more info, post it here.  Your best bets are to stick with those natural sweeteners and perhaps Stevia - if you like it and it agrees with you.
