War Vadar,
Glad to read about your successes! As I'm sure you're well aware, diet is everything when it comes to real muscle growth, as well as real stubborn fat loss. I hope you've checked out The Anti-Estrogenic Diet. It has real benefits for everyone, but can definitely be advantageous to bodybuilders who are trying to protect against estrogen kickbacks. Along with it is our natural supplement EstroX.
At any rate, thanks for the posting and keep us informed!

The best raw honey is the one that is mixed with bee propolies. Yes, yes and yes to the rest of your questions, as long as the proper food combinations are kept and the desserts are incorporated during Phase III of the diet according to the instructions in the book.

Products / Defense Nutrition & Warrior Diet Products / Re: Does anyone know if glyconutrients can help?

Glyconutrients are compounds attached to saccharides and provide the body with essential sugars that play an important role in cellular signaling, buildup of connective tissues, neurotransmitters, and enzymes. They also support liver functions and detox. Examples of glyconutrients are proteoglucans such as in oats and barley, and arabinogalactans, an anti-carcinogenic fiber from larch tree and glucosamine found in gelatin.
So, I would say yes, they can definitely help!

Many of you may be like me. I'm a "milk and cookies" kind of guy before I go to bed at night. For you, it may be ice cream or chocolate or a combination. There are many "blood sugar raising" options to choose from. The important thing to remember is your goal. First and foremost it should be to stay as healthy as possible. Second may be to have plenty of energy during the following day, maintain your weight or to lose weight. Thirdly, remember, the following will ruin a good Liver Detox day. Whatever you're striving for, you don't have to feel deprived while on The Anti-Estrogenic Diet. With that in mind, I suggest the following options (IF YOU MUST HAVE SOMETHING SWEET AT NIGHT):
1. Drink a protein shake mixed with some fiber (ground flax or hemp seed) and milk. If you need some sweetness, add some banana. Throw in some ice and put it in the blender. Remember to stick with organic milk too. Check out our Warrior Milk and Whey products on our Store page. http://www.defensenutrition.com/cart/ They are all natural, low in sugar and have great flavor. These are perfect for this very thing.
2. Cook some steel cut oats. They'll give you a lot of fiber and fill you up quickly. Drink a glass of milk along with them. Or, you can add a couple of eggs to the mix while cooking them. Another option is to add some protein powder to the mix as well. If you need some sweetness, add a spoonful of real maple syrup, but don't overdo it.
3. Finally, if you must have cookies or icecream or the like, make sure you use organic ingredients, so as to avoid estrogenic chemicals. And remember, have protein with them (such as a glass of milk). Furthermore, don't mix carbs with fats (nuts).
Note: The above should only be implemented on a High Carb night only.

Members Helping Members / Diet Recipes / High (good) Fat Salad

This is my own concoction, but it works great for a High Fat Meal (during Phase II) of the diet & tastes fantastic:
Prepare the following (single serving) on a plate, not mixed up in a bowl:
- Organic mixed herbs/greens - 1/4 Organic avocado sliced - A couple of cut up artichoke hearts - Kalamata olives (five or six) - Organic tomatoes (five or six) - Ground organic Flax or Hemp seeds - Olive or Flax seed oil (1 tablespoon) - Organic Apple Cider Vinegar (1 tablespoon)
Basically, you can prepare the salad however you like, but I put the greens on the plate first, then add the cut avocado and artichoke. I then place the olives and tomatoes on top for presentation. Sprinkle the flax/hemp seeds. Finally, add the oil and vinegar (you can replace the vinegar with fresh lemon juice) for dressing. I also add a little salt and pepper to taste.
Keep in mind, this salad is very filling/satisfying. If you have a lot of other food to eat thereafter, you might actually cut the above serving in half.

The Anti-Estrogenic Diet / The Anti-Estrogenic Diet Book / More on Liver Detox
|
on: October 10, 2006, 08:10:30 PM
|
|
The following is an excerpt from The Anti-Estrogenic Diet book:
"The goal of the first week (of the diet) is to maximize the removal of toxins from the liver. The liver is the site for estrogen metabolism as well as other critical functions, including the regulation of lipids and glucose metabolism (fat and sugar). Liver detox can help enhance liver functioning and create a metabolic environment that favors the utilization of fats and carbohydrates for energy. A healthy liver can grant a superior metabolic capacity to burn fat and resist toxicity. The ability to lose fat and neutralize estrogenic toxins is the KEY to lowering estrogen levels and to the overall success of the diet. . ."
