milk foam for coffee??
«

my mother and I enjoy milk foam with our coffee and we foam our own with an electric frother. However, nothing will froth except skim milk. We have tried frothing half/half, whole milk and 2% and failed everytime..... anybody know whats going on? I suspect I might not want to know why skim will froth and nothing else will.
Anyone have any suggestions for us who love to enjoy coffee with just a bit of foam?? Thanks

i dont know much about the electric frothers but I have an Aerolatte (battery powered) and it froths my milk just fine
its not exactly like the kind of froth you get at the coffee bars but i still like it. i was drinking whole milk but switched to low fat and it still froths it okay.

You may just want to change the batteries in your frother.

Start with a cold cup!
Stick your frothing wand all the way to the bottom of your milk, swirl and then briefly pull it to the top of your milk before re-submerging it. The brief excursion at the top will create a few bubbles, which is precisely the surface-tension you are trying to exploit.
Then continue to heat the lower portions of the milk before gradually frothing again back toward the surface.
Hope this helps!
