Fat burning is a very general process. It does not apply to the method of isolation which is used for specific muscle gain in bodybuilding.

You are predetermined by your genetics, where your body is most likely to store fat. For males, this is usually the abdomnial region but you seem to have the typical female problem of too much body fat around hips and upper legs. You cannot speed the fat burning there but you have the option to speed the overall metabolic rate, forcing the body to metabolize the fat tissue stored in there. Also keep in mind, that hormonal imbalances and toxification play a critical role in fat gain and loss. Avoid both to strip the excess fat off its reason to exist.

heyy there,

my best advice is running, and also strengthen adductors (inside of thighs)

i used to do long distance running but with quite a strong pace, i would alway keep above a comfortable place, my legs got very lean back then, but i was also weight training most days.

where ishina said fat burning is holistic ( i do agree with her) the fact remains that circulation around developed muscles will be better. so by training muscles the area will become much more toned and fat tissue more easily burned as energy.

i also think that in running, as in all continued, holistic, strenuous movements, a tremendous rise in temperature, circulation and oxygenation makes you feel like you are glowing hot.

the imcreas in circulation will help you burn 'stubborn fat' because of the more complete circulation in fat tissues

I have read somewhere that fat loss happens in a reverse order than fat gain.So if for example you gain fat firstly in your legs, then they would be the last area that will lose fat.I dont know if this happens really, but i have noticed some people with these problem. One other thing you might consider doing,is while having a bath,to alternate between cold and hot temperatures, targetting your legs Wink

You are right, fotaku. Both in terms of my gender (which is a common mistake made. Interestingly enough, I am rather regularly regarded as a woman) and the order of fat gain.

It is about common sense. The body has preferred regions of fat storage which are precious to him, as fat is a source and foundation of survival. It therefore is keen on enlarging the reserves there. The body does not have a mirror, but it indeed has a internal mechanism, that works towards sustaining life function - and reserves mean, that the body is able to endure a long trail of hardship (which has stopped to naturally occur in western civilication).

You therefore have to work hard to convice the body of the fact, that it not a necessity anymore to store fat in this regions. You best do that via one holistic fat loss approach that can well include a specialisation on the target region in terms of training. If you transform the underlying muscle fibers there towards super muscle fiber or type I muscle fibers, you have the chance to enhance the mitrochondrial content of the muscle which in return yields a higher energy turnover in this specific tissue. Local fat will be most likely mobilized and can probably lead to a degeneration of the surrounding fat tissue.

However, this topic is highly controversial, as it is not fully discovered which sources of fat are the first to be used in case of need. It might be, that, even if the fat tissue is directly covering the trained muscle, it devours the fat from cells that lie relatively far beyond, somewhere in the body, where it is more likely to be mobilized. For now, I cannot give you a definitive answer, as I am no biologist. Ori could most likely give you one, as some of the users probably can.
